The last 48 hours have really been interesting. In the midst of the change going on, it’s been nice to have some really great friends. I cannot say thank you enough to all the friends that have reached out to Alison and I. The simple things like texting, “I’m really sorry. I will be praying for you and the family” have made a huge impact on Alison and I both. We’ve received phone calls, texts, and emails all expressing the care and concern for us and asking if there is anything we need. All of these have been a huge blessing and I wanted to make sure and offer up a public thank you.
Proverbs 18:24 says, “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” I’m truly grateful that I have reliable friends! I’m grateful that I have friends that have stuck by Alison and I through think and thin. That’s what church is about. The church is about God creating a community (the body of Christ) and that we stick by each other in hard times. We are loved and we love you!

Bryce,
Once I learned of the news on Tuesday, I had to pray to God for you. Not only can I sympathize with where God has placed you now in your life, but I could not help but feel in my heart an overwhelming sense of a hopeful and positive future for you and yours. It’s remains undeniable. You have such an amazing heart for God in everything you say and do (which is clearly evident even here on your website!), I cannot help but conclude that God has nothing but the best in mind for you and your family in the coming weeks and months ahead.
Sorry if this sounds like a well worn phrase in your direction, so if I am repeating what others have already told you, please forgive. But the idea of God opening a door when another closes seems to be a great part of God’s “M O”, God has another door for you to walk through, and there’s nothing but the richness of God’s promises waiting for you there.
Your attitude is an inspiration, and if nothing else, your heart of service remains bedrock on the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Thank you for this.
Thank you for who you are, and for allowing God to create in you the man He intended you to be. Thank you for surrending to a God that wishes greatly to shape you into the image of His Son. You’d have to be knocked in the head not to see that happening to you, though I’ve only known you for a couple of years.
God bless you, your wife Alison, and your beautiful children.
Until I learn better, you will be in my prayers, surrendering your name to the One who cares so deeply for you.
John
